On 31 January 1956, somewhere in the Netherlands, Guido Van Rossum was born and raised. He prefers to maintain a low profile when it comes to sharing his personal life. Guido Van Rossum’s Career
In 1986, Van Rossum came up with and wrote a glob() routine, a wildcard system to sort and use files by extension for BSD Unix, while being an employee at the Centrum Wiskunde & Informatica (CWI). He also helped to develop the ABC programming language. Not only did he create a web browser called Grail, written in Python, but also contributed to the HTML standard.
In 1989, December, Van wanted to pursue a hobby in the programming project that would keep him busy during the Christmas week. That was the time when he started to write an Interpreter for creating a new script language which he had been thinking about for quite some time. He named this interpreter Python, inspired by Monty Python’s Flying Circus. He was generally known as a Benevolent Dictator For Life inside the Python community. However, in July 2018, he resigned from this position. But he stayed as a member of the Python Steering Council until the end of 2019 and he pulled out his name for the 2020 election from nomination.
